Job Title: Male Personal Assistant

Reporting to: Employer

Location: Ettingshall, Wolverhampton 

Rate of Pay:
£9.25 per hour

Nature of the job role: Male Support worker who is friendly, patient and supportive.  You should have a genuine interest in the provision of high quality care and should possess the motivation to develop trust and understanding within the role. Supporting a young boy who has a diagnosis of Autism, demanding challenging behaviour with regular supervision. Requires support to access community resources. Able to communicate, and attends Tettenhall Wood School.

Main Duties:
Support in trying to achieve and develop his independent living skills when out in the community such as using public transport, buses, trains, trams etc. and accessing public services and other activities that he enjoys

Personal duties: 

Social Duties: Accessing the community and using public transport buses, trains, trams and accessing public services and other activities that he enjoys

Hours of work:  4 hours per week 

Qualifications: 
Autism awareness
Challenging behaviour 
Working with children

Skills & Experience: 

Someone who is friendly, patient and supportive and has experience of working with people who have Autism or severe learning disabilities is a preferred option although experience of working in the care sector is an advantage.  You should have a genuine interest in the provision of high quality care and should possess the motivation to develop trust and understanding within the role. You should be hardworking, reliable, honest with a sense of humour and be committed to providing the best care. In return you will have the opportunity to practice your skills, keep up to date with professional development as any necessary training can be provided.

An Enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check will be required, funded by the Local Authority. Car driver preferred but not essential
