Job Title: Female Weekend PA

Job Ref: VP/EC/12/22

Reporting to: Employer

Location: Oldswinford, DY8

Rate of Pay: £9.50

Nature of the job role:
PA to cover weekends Sat/Sun and holiday cover

Main Duties:
Personal duties: 
To assist in the day-to-day activities needed to maintain independent living
Domestic duties: 
Assist as directed with tasks associated with personal care;( this can include showering, dressing and toileting needs)
Assist with laundry duties (loading and unloading washing machine and folding and putting away clothes
Assist with general household activities
Assist as directed with the preparation of food- (washing/ peeling vegetables and lifting saucepans   - assistance with “get ups” and shopping at the weekends

Hours of work: 
9am -12pm  Weekends 
Saturday and Sunday 9.00am-12pm (This may be subject to change depending on need and requirements.) Job Share Will Be Considered

Other duties
To maintain a professional attitude to meet with the changing demands of the job
To be aware of the confidentiality issues within our family environment
To undertake such other duties, or hours of work as may be reasonably required, and which are consistent with the general level of responsibility of this job

On occasions you may come into contact with other members of the family and friends

On occasions your hours of work and tasks may be subject to change to fit in with family activities, reasonable notice of such change will always be given.

Person Specification

1. You have the ability and experience working with children (15 and 18)
2. To have a flexible approach to working in relation to the needs and requirements of the post.  
3. To have a knowledge of transfers using a ceiling Track hoist – although on the job training will be given.
4. Knowledge of food hygiene and health and safety – training can be provided

Have the ability to work under instruction but also have the ability to work on your own initiative.
Have a positive attitude towards disability and to be able to understand the changing demands of working within a family environment.
To know the difference between assisting and “doing for you”
To have a good sense of humour

General Information
You will be working in a family home environment providing assistance with everyday living activities.
I am a 52 year old physically disabled lady who has cerebral Palsy. As a highly independent person with a demanding family (2 children a husband) and career, I need help and assistance with everyday living activities as detailed above.
