Rate of Pay:
£9 - £11 per hour

Nature of the job role: I am a young man with severe mental and physical disabilities, living in the North Solihull area. I am looking to recruit a Personal Assistant to provide care in the home and also assist me in accessing social activities. The Personal Assistant will be required to provide all aspects of personal care. 

Main Duties:

Personal duties: Provide all aspects of personal care.

Domestic duties: To make sure everything is left clean and tidy after providing support.

Social Duties: Assist me in accessing social activities.

Any other reasonable duties that may be necessary.

Hours of work: Approximately 5 hours - one weekend per month during term time.
Approximately 5 hours - one day per week during school holidays.
Approximately 6 hours 3 week day evenings during term time.
(days and times to be negotiated)

Qualifications:
Up to Level 3 NVQ preferred.

Skills & Experience:


Only applicants who have experience of administering medication and are able to deliver a high level of care will be considered.

Previous care experience is essential, as you will be expected to manage the following (although support and training will be provided):-

Seizures (although a rare occurrence)
Suction Machine
Nebuliser
Hoist
Administration of medication (through PEG)
Set up enteral feed to be given through PEG


The right candidate will be reliable, capable of manual handling, and happy to accompany on walks in the local community and at specialised social activities. You should be friendly, patient, have a flexible approach to work and be understanding of my needs.

A full driving licence, valid to drive in the UK and use of a car is essential.

The employer operates a non-smoking policy on their premises and in the car.

The hours and days are to be arranged to suit both the employer and candidate.
