Location: Tamworth

Rate of Pay: up to £10 per hour. Rate of pay above minimum/living wage (according to age) dependent on any enrolment in workplace pension. Pay remains within limits set and reviewed annually by Staffordshire County Council.

Nature of the job role: Disabled woman with multiple impairments in Tamworth seeks to employ 2 female Personal Assistants/Support Workers to work as a team
Worker to support me in remaining to live independently

Main Duties:

Personal duties: 
To provide personal care
To be able to work independently, and at times without direct supervision
Dispensing medication under my supervision
To be able to contribute to my wellbeing
To maintain a safe environment and contribute to infection control

Domestic duties: To provide support within the home. Any other tasks commensurate with role as directed by employer

Social Duties: To provide support accessing activities outside the home and upon occasion outside of Midlands area including church attendance and swimming.

Hours of work: 22.5 hours at present opportunity for overtime. Entitled to pro rata legal minimum holiday

Qualifications: Current full driving licence (applicant needs to be over 18 for insurance purposes). Have a qualification in care work or must be willing to undertake commensurate training

Skills & Experience: 

Be able to demonstrate reliability
Fully vaccinated against coronavirus and flu (employer has respiratory condition)
Like cats
Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service checks (employer’s expense)
Be able to work flexibly, during day, evening and weekends/bank holidays as part of a small team to cover sickness and holidays
Must demonstrate a commitment for and capacity to work compassionately and ability to genuinely care for disabled people

This post is dependent upon interview, satisfactory references and satisfactory enhanced DBS. Driving licence to be produced annually and its retention is a condition of service. Subject to satisfactory completion of a six-month probationary period. The employer has claimed an exemption (sex) under the Equality Act 2010 and for occupational reasons requires applicants to be female due to personal care.
