Nature of the job role and main duties: 

Mrs Rochester seeks Grace Poole to work with me to promote my wellbeing and quality of life using a relationship-based approach. The nature of the support needed is likely to fluctuate in response to changes in my episodic mental health condition. When I am well, support will primarily be to increase my confidence in accessing the local community and expand my activities such as visiting art galleries and other cultural outings. I am a retired artist and would like to work with someone who enjoys organising and could help me to archive my artwork and encourage me to continue to create. 

During a mental health episode this may be supplemented with support to maintain my daily routines, home environment, and wellbeing. This could include a variety of tasks such as facilitating essential outings for shopping or to the GP, hands-on help with maintaining my home environment, encouragement to maintain my personal care and nutrition, or supporting me to maintain my access to the local community in ways that maintain my safety and wellbeing. Light household cleaning as an optional add-on to personal assistant role.

Main Duties:

Personal duties: Encouragement to maintain my personal care and nutrition

Domestic duties: Support to maintain my daily routines, home environment and light household cleaning.

Social Duties: Support to increase my confidence in accessing the local community and expand my activities such as visiting art galleries and other cultural outings.

Hours of work: 6 hours per week (ideally 2 hours on 3 afternoons per week but can be used flexibly). Additional hours available for cleaning if agreed. 

Qualifications: Mental Health First Aid and Adult Social Care beneficial but not required

Skills & Experience: Skilled in interpersonal work with individuals experiencing a lack of motivation. Comfortable working with episodic mental health conditions and fluctuating capacity.

Own car and willingness to travel locally preferred. Mileage of up to 30 miles per week compensated at 45p per mile.
