Personal Assistant (NC)

Nature of the job role: 


Two Personal Assistant/Support Workers required for a 58 year old man living in the Cradley Heath area of Sandwell.  The gentleman is a diabetic and has other health illnesses related to the diabetes.
Ideally the service user would like to job share the role to include duties:-

Post 1
No personal care required however prompting is necessary from time to time.
To support, assist and motivate the service user to complete household duties   
Note taking/support at meetings
Support the service user to attend appointments i.e GP/ hospital appointments.
Making sure the service user is taking medication and eating properly due to diabetes.
To assist the service user in promoting independence by supporting them in the community. 
Must be able to drive

Post 2
Must be able to drive/tow vehicles
Must be fit and healthy as possible lifting is required i.e wooden pallets.  Service user is involved in voluntary work creating garden furniture
Interested in football as you will need to assist the service user in attending home/away games for a local semi pro football club as the service user is the team physio.  Support with carrying physio equipment

Essential skills
Honesty and trust is important for the service user
Have a good sense of humour
Excellent communication skills
Be motivating and show encouragement at all times
Working in a safe way and explaining to the service user about any health and safety concerns


Hours of Work: Up to 28 hours per week (can be used flexible and job share preferred)

Personal Assistant (DG)

Job Title: Personal Assistant (PA)

Rate of Pay: £8.29 per hour

Nature of the job role: Working as part of a team. To assist with a variety of tasks which will support the employer to live an independent personal and social life.

Main Duties:

Personal duties: Washing, dressing.

Domestic duties: Washing, ironing clothes and bed linen. Keeping my rooms clean and tidy. Preparing food and drinks.

Social Duties: These duties may vary from day to day.

Also to cover holidays for 2nd PA who works Tuesday and Thursday 09.00 – 17.00

Any other reasonable duties that may be necessary.

Hours of work: 20 hrs per week

Monday, Wednesday and Friday 8.30am – 13.30. Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday evenings 21.00 – 22.00

Qualifications: Up to Level 3 NVQ

Skills & Experience:

Only applicant's who have experience of administering medication and are able to deliver a high level of care will be considered.

The applicant needs to be a car driver with the use of own vehicle. There will be extra payments for external appointments and hospital visits.

Personal Assistant (KH)

The successful applicant will be required to complete a DBS check.

Domestic duties: General domestic chores; food preparation, light cleaning duties.

Social Duties: Times and days may vary so flexibility is important


Hours of work: 16 hours per week


Mon, Fri, Sun 10.00am – 11.30am

Personal Assistant (CR)

Job Title: Personal assistants

Rate of Pay: £8.29 to £9.40 per hour

Nature of the job role: Working in a family setting, caring ventilated gentleman with complex care needs.

Main Duties: Personal Assistants work in teams of 2 covering 24/7 a week. 2 P.A's are on shift at all times due to the complexity of the client’s needs

Personal duties: The client is in his late 30's, with a spinal cord and brain injury, he is totally reliant on his team for all aspects of care.

Domestic duties: Domestic duties will be involved. Full training will be provided

Hours of work: Hours to be discussed, full and part time posts available, paying £9.40 once fully trained.

Domestic duties: Light domestic duties to include washing, ironing and cleaning.

Hours of work: 18 hours per week

Personal Assistant (EC)

Nature of the job role: SU is a teenager diagnosed with Ullrich Congenital Muscular Dystrophy, a genetic muscle-wasting condition which is degenerative; leading to increasing disability. Also has lung disease and breathing is assisted by a bi-level positive airway pressure (BiPAP) machine during the night, scoliosis and has gastronomy button.
Employer is not independently ambulant; unable to weight bare, stand or walk and is a wheelchair user. Although movement is restricted however has a good command/use of electric wheelchair which provides some independence/mobility 

Main Duties:
Personal duties: Personal Care, Peg feeding, BiPAP machine (training will be provided), Support putting to bed

Social Duties: Accessing the community during school holidays, Car driver would be preferred but not essential - Access to car provided

Hours of work: 7½ hours per week
Monday – Saturday 8:00pm – 9:00pm
Sunday - 7:30pm – 9:00pm
Extra 6 hours per week during school holidays to access the community

Main Duties: This post is to support a middle-aged lady living in the Merridale area of Wolverhampton Living. Previous experience of working with mental health issues is a priority

Social Duties: Supporting me during the following activities –
Visiting café and shopping, pushing the shopping trolley as well as packing shopping bags.
Hospital and doctor’s appointment as well as to the pharmacy
Support within the community visiting post office, occasionally to the Civic Centre, paying bills and the dry cleaners


Hours of work: 6 hours per week
Monday, Wednesday and Friday
11.30am – 1.30pm hours may vary for appointments

Nature of the job role: To be a personal assistant support worker to a boy with a learning disability who is none verbal. He is an outgoing and sociable person who enjoys the outdoors and physical activities.

Main Duties:

Personal duties: To assist with feeding and toileting

Domestic duties: None

Social Duties: To provide full assistance and support in accessing social and physical activities within the local community.

Hours of work: An average of 5 hours per week. Typically used in blocks of a minimum of two hours per session. Times and days many vary so a degree of flexibility will be required

Qualifications: BSL Level 2 Skills and car driver with use of own vehicle preferred but not essential. The successful applicant will be required to complete an enhanced DBS check which would be paid for by the local authority.

Personal duties: Provide personal care, bathing, Medication administration, Adhering to care plan

Domestic duties: Carry out basic domestic duties in the home

Social Duties: Support during hospital or doctors’ visits

Hours of work: 8 hours per week 
Monday and Wednesday 8.30am – 12.30pm 
Additional shifts available covering sickness/holidays

Nature of the job role: This is a fantastic opportunity to enhance the life of a young gentleman living with a spinal cord injury in the Wolverhampton area. 
The role involves assisting the client in re-learning to walk with an intense physiotherapy programme alongside a physiotherapist who attends 3 days a week.
Skills learned during the sessions will continue to be applied throughout the week in absence of the therapist.
Full training and professional guidance will be provided by a fully trained Neurological Physiotherapist

Main Duties:

Personal duties:
Assisting the physiotherapist 6-18 hours a week (depending on shift patterns) within the clients home
Supporting the client to attend physiotherapy and hydrotherapy sessions within the community

Domestic duties:
Ensuring rehabilitation routines are followed
Providing assistance with some aspects of personal care

Social Duties: Providing transport and support to and from appointments, social events, family outings, shopping


Hours of work: Various hours available between 22 - 55 hours per week 

Qualifications: 

Skills & Experience: Full UK driving license 
A suitable vehicle with room to fit a foldable light weight wheelchair 
Business insurance  
Ability to work on a rota basis to include days and weekends

Able to communicate in her own language which is Punjabi she understands and can express a few words in English

Personal duties: 
Support needed with washing and dressing
Transfer to use commode with assistance of others and mechanical aid
Support to ensure commode is empty and cleaned ready for use
Support to change incontinence pad
Support to give pressure area care and check areas

Domestic duties: Provide an afternoon sitting service

Hours of work: 14 hours per employee x 2
Monday – Friday 9:30am – 10:15am & 1:45pm – 4:00pm

Qualifications: 
Manual Handling preferred as mechanical aid is used for all transfers
