Rate of Pay: £9.50
Nature of the job role: To look after the physical, emotional, cultural, and social needs of the service user using a person-centred approach. To observe and promote service user’s choice, independence, dignity, privacy, fulfilment, and other rights. To create and maintain a good professional relationship with our service user, family, and friends. To actively support other P. A.s, and adhere to all regulatory and statutory obligations, policies, procedures, and guidelines
Personal duties: Care provision
• To provide personal care and support to the service user who has a wide range of needs
• To know and understand the care and support of the service
• To undertake the tasks detailed in care and support plan using a person-centred approach and in the least intrusive way
• To assist with getting up in the morning and going to bed at night
• To assist with to wash, bath and shower
• To assist with dressing/undressing
• To assist with looking after her skin, teeth, hair, and nails
• To assist with toileting, continence management and personal hygiene
• To assist with medication at the agreed level of support and as detailed
• To prepare food and drink, being aware of her choices, likes/dislikes, nutritional needs and cultural requirements
• To provide light general household domestic duties, including housework
• To take responsibility for the safe handling of property and equipment belonging to the service user
• To maintain good communication and develop an effective working relationship with the service user
• To provide companionship
• To accompany the service user on trips into the community
• To ensure as safe as possible the living environment for the service user, whilst respecting her choices and rights
Recording and Reporting
• To maintain detailed accurate records in respect of care and medication support given and tasks undertaken
• To regularly read care and support plans, acknowledging changes
• To protect the confidentiality of all information relating to our mom and not divulge information to anyone who is not authorised to receive it
• To promptly report to family any issues concerning the care, support, well being or behaviour of our mom
• To continue to monitor where concerns have been reported and recorded
• To recognise the signs of abuse and immediately report abuse or suspected abuse
• To report any complaints to the family
• To contact family if running late
General
• To dress appropriately, wearing uniform and using personal protective equipment provided by the family
• To seek out best practice and look at innovative ways to improve the quality and efficiency of service delivery
• To observe all health & safety rules and take reasonable care to promote health and safety of self and others and raise any concerns to the family
Hours of work:
• Flexible
• Hours needed to be covered (9am to 8pm ) Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday
• Flexible working, as evening and weekend work is required
• Own transport
Qualifications: None specifically required, but NVQ 2 or higher in Adult Social Care would be beneficial.
Skills & Experience: of delivering a high quality of health and social care, including administration of medication.
