Job Description and Person Specification

Job Title: Personal Assistant (PA)
Job Ref: JI/JC/03/21 
Reporting to: Employer
Location: Stafford/Staffordshire ST16
Rate of Pay: £9.80 per hour

Nature of the job role:
A Personal Assistant is required to assist in a variety of tasks which will support the employer to live an independent personal and social life.

Main Duties: 
- Personal duties: To assist with washing, dressing, toileting and getting the employer out of bed.
- Domestic duties: Preparing and administering food and drink.
- Social Duties: Helping with shopping and various days out etc., as well as hospital appointments. These will vary depending on employer's needs.

Any other reasonable duties that may be necessary.

Hours of work:
10 AM - 2 PM and 4:30 PM - 7:30 PM Monday to Friday.

Qualifications:
No qualifications required, but a NVQ 2 or higher in Adult Social Care would be beneficial.

Skills & Experience:
The applicant requires a car driver over 25 for insurance purposes to use the employer's vehicle for appointments and days out. Experience in delivering a high quality of health and social care, including medication administration, is essential. 

As the employer is a wheelchair user, using a hoist is part of the daily tasks, training is provided if required. Previous experience with the Moving and Handling of people would be beneficial.
