Personal Assistant (AJM)

Job Title: Personal Care Assistant 2 or 3 positions

Job Ref: MH / AJM / 10 / 19

Reporting to: Employer 

Location:  Wolverhampton WV1

Rate of Pay: £9.00 per hour

Nature of the job role: 

Support a gentleman living in the Eastfield area whilst his wife is in hospital or needs a break from her caring role then he needs another person to support him in his own home 
Without this support, he would be at high risk of wandering in the community

Main Duties:

Personal duties: 
Support with prompting all daily living activities including hygiene, nutrition, fluids, taking medication as prescribed. Insulin as prescribed, normally given by district nurses and they check his blood sugars
Prompted and assisted with washing, shaving, grooming, mouth care
Assist to change into clean clothes and to be dressed appropriately for the environment to maintain a normal body temperature

Domestic duties: 
Encouraged to eat and drink regularly at each meal time and not to over eat or eat the wrong kind of foods (e.g. foods high in sugar)
General domestic duties keeping the house clean & tidy, washing and ironing clothes shopping
Social Duties: 
Various social events 
Cinema
Doctors’ appointments

Hours of work: 49 hours per week for 6 weeks throughout the year
To be shared between employees
Waking Nights could be included

Qualifications: 
Mental Health

Skills & Experience:

Someone who is friendly, patient and supportive.  You should have a genuine interest in the provision of high quality care and should possess the motivation to develop trust and understanding within the role. 
You should be hardworking, reliable, honest with a sense of humour and be committed to providing the best care.
