Personal Assistant (AA) - External Vacancy

Job Title: Personal Care Assistant

Job Ref: AA/RF/9/2021

Reporting to: Client direct 

Location: Birmingham B44 

Rate of Pay: £9.70 per hour

Hours of work: 21 hours a week. Monday to Sunday - Flexible depending on schedule.

Nature of the job role: The adult is wheelchair user - The job revolves around helping client with their immediate needs includes getting to know clients personally and providing them with emotional support and company, which contributes positively to their wellbeing.  
Main Duties:

Personal duties: Assist clients with personal care tasks, such as washing, dressing, eating Encouraging diet and fluid intake and toileting.

Domestic duties: Cleaning equipment used by the employer along with going out and general support.

Manual handling:  Assist in the safe lifting, transferring, repositioning and movement of clients.

Social Duties: Help with shopping and various days out etc. as well as hospital appointments. these will vary depending on employer’s needs. These duties may vary from day to day.

Observe, monitor, and record clients' physical and emotional well-being, and promptly report any changes to family members.

Encourage clients to participate in social and recreational activities and Providing companionship


Qualifications: 
Social care qualification such as a Level 2 or 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care, Manual handling required, including administration of medication.  As the employer is a wheelchair user, using a hoist is part of the daily tasks, Previous experience with the Moving and Handling of people would be beneficial.

good interpersonal skills to work with someone on a one-to-one basis.
