Salary: £27, 485 to negotiable FTE (Depending on Skills and Experience)

Ideal for All is a user-led charity based in Sandwell, dedicated to providing targeted support for disabled individuals and those in need of support. An exciting opportunity has opened up in our Integrated Services team for a Community Engagement Manager. This role is pivotal in strategic planning and fostering strong connections with the community, stakeholders, and partners. The position focuses on empowering individuals by providing life skills, peer support, condition management groups, and access to education, employment, and leisure opportunities, all geared towards enhancing independence and well-being.
The successful candidate will work closely with the Head of Operations to manage, co-ordinate and develop the Community Engagement service, aligning with various contracts and grants. They will ensure high-performance outcomes, compliance with funder requirements, and adherence to IFA's quality standards frameworks through effective contract and quality management. Communication, negotiation, and decision-making skills are essential, along with a proactive approach to leadership.
The successful candidate will have a ‘can do’ attitude to lead and manage the Community Engagement team to achieve set targets. Their role will involve delegating caseloads to the team, liaising with external partners, implementing procedures and processes, and looking for effective solutions to improve the service whilst ensuring all safeguarding and other legal requirements are met. They will be driven and able to manage a range of tasks in outreach locations, across our diverse sites and in the local community.
They will have management forward/supervisory experience and be confident passionate about developing the team as part of our wider integrated services and social enterprise (health & wellbeing, independent living, employment & skills).
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and implement community engagement strategies which promote inclusivity and accessibility so disabled people can take part in a range of co-produced health, well-being, peer support / condition management and employment support opportunities.
• Lead initiatives to co-produce services and forums with the community, ensuring they align with the goals and values of Ideal for All, supporting / facilitating coproduction, and evaluation of interventions so that services are tailored to meet the specific needs of individuals with disabilities.
• Manage a diverse team to ensure KPI’s are met and high quality is achieved.
• Championing equality and diversity, ensure disabled peoples ‘voices’ are heard and can influence decision making, national and local policies which impact their daily lives.
The ideal candidate will have:
• Proven experience in community engagement or a related field. Working within a disability setting and supporting people of all ages and abilities.
• Strong understanding of the challenges faced by disabled individuals and those in need of support.
• High level of customer service, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and communicate effectively with diverse audiences/ all people.
• Passionate about supporting a user-led ethos/co-production promoting health, wellbeing, and independence for disabled individuals.
• Ability to work flexibly within a fast paced organisation and manage multiple deadlines, working collaboratively to drive positive change.
• Clean full driving licence and access to vehicle. Willingness to travel.
